Working with us

The Mercury Centre can offer a phased approach, beginning with initial investigation of your business needs and exploratory tests, through to long term-product or process optimisation.  We will work at a pace that suits you and tailor our services to your requirements. The Centre offers a “no risk” proof of concept engagement to obtain preliminary data which can be used in the development of subsequent funding applications.

There are a range of options for working with us depending on your specific needs; from short term contracted consultancy, through knowledge transfer partnerships (KTPs) and PhD studentships, or even large scale multi-partner projects.

If you need help in financing your project, there may be options available to provide part or full funding, depending on the nature of your project. This funding is subject to certain eligibility criteria so please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

Further information on working with the University of Sheffield’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering and funding options can be found at Sheffield Engineering Gateway.
