The Mercury Centre provides access to the latest near net shape powder based manufacturing equipment. We offer innovative manufacturing technologies to produce components with intricate geometries from a wide range of materials.

Combined with the University of Sheffield’s wider expertise, we can provide a range of manufacturing capabilities from traditional rolling to the latest material fabrication. Our core technologies include; additive layer manufacture (ALM), metal injection moulding (MIM), 3D printing, surface texturing, hardening and functional coatings.

In addition to a portfolio encompassing all metal alloys, we specialise in the difficult to process materials and are constantly adding to our capabilities;
